Who We Are
Christian Community at ExxonMobil (CCEM) is a voluntary employee community founded in 2014 to serve the Christians working at the ExxonMobil Houston Campus. We are a recognized Employee Club — not company-sponsored — and operate entirely through the dedication of volunteers.
Our community spans more than 1,400+ members and connects Christians from all church backgrounds and denominations. Whether you're new to the faith or have walked with Christ for decades, CCEM exists to encourage you and help you thrive in your workplace.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
Colossians 3:23

Frequently Asked Questions
Is CCEM a company-sponsored ERG?
No — we're a recognized Employee Club, not an official Employee Resource Group. We operate independently and aren't company-sponsored.
Is CCEM affiliated with a specific denomination?
We're Biblically-based and founded on the Apostles' Creed, but we're not tied to any specific denomination. Christians from all church backgrounds are welcome.
Is CCEM only for Houston employees?
We started with a focus on the Houston Campus, but everyone is welcome to join our community and access the content on our website.
Does CCEM run Bible studies?
We don't run Bible studies directly, but there are 11 active groups led by members across campus. We can help connect you with one that fits your schedule and interests.
Are religious activities allowed at ExxonMobil?
Yes. We maintain communication with Management and HR and abide by all ExxonMobil policies. The company does not discourage religious activities that comply with company policies, and de minimis use of company assets (computers, meeting rooms, equipment) is allowed.
Who manages CCEM?
A group of ExxonMobil volunteers manages our website, newsletter, and certain events on their personal time. Many other events are organized by members donating their own time as well.
How is CCEM funded?
We're funded by the non-profit "Christian Community at Work," which receives donations from members and supporters.
How does the Core Team evaluate events?
The Core Team prayerfully evaluates events based on alignment with our vision, mission, and values, along with availability of an ExxonMobil contact who can be present at the event.
What else does the Core Team do?
Beyond the website and newsletters, the Core Team hosts events like See You at the Pole, National Day of Prayer, and the annual Christmas party.
