Starting September 9, 2025
Discover faith, hope, and joy this year as we study the Old Testament together in-person or on Zoom!
This year’s study, Exile and Return, invites you on a powerful journey through the Old Testament, where God’s people were called to build His kingdom in a foreign land. Their story is our story—we, too, are strangers in a broken world, called to build for His glory. As we explore how God equips and positions His people, we’re challenged to ask: Am I building my life for Christ? Exile and Return reminds us that our time to build is now.
Books included in this year’s study: Ezekiel, Daniel, Ezra, Esther, Haggai, Zechariah, Nehemiah, and Malachi.
You can contact Mark Warren or Chris Matteson for details.

Wednesday
This is a co-ed group study that meets on Wednesdays from 12-1pm CST at Baytown (the same course was previously offered at EMHC) and on Zoom.
Study Description:
1 Peter 3:15 instructs believers to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” Apologetics equips us to fulfill this command by providing well-reasoned responses to questions and objections about Christianity. By addressing doubts and presenting evidence, we help others see the credibility of our faith.
This Bible study explores the relationship between faith and science through the lens of apologetics. It covers key topics such as creation, the fine-tuning of the universe, miracles, human origins, moral law, environmental stewardship, and faith-based healing. Each chapter provides reasoned arguments and evidence to defend the Christian faith, addressing common objections and misconceptions. The study aims to strengthen believers’ confidence, engage thoughtfully with contemporary cultural issues, and foster meaningful conversations. By integrating apologetics into evangelism, participants will be better equipped to share the Gospel and demonstrate the intellectual credibility of their faith.
